Schools and lessons not learned

Thursday, September 28, 2006 9:44 PM
It was a shame to watch the breaking news yesterday and even more so today to learn details of what happened again in Colorado. Of all States, Colorado should have been the one leading the Nation in ways to protect our public schools from murderers. Schools of all grades, levels of education, and monetary influence need to go over their security procedures and protective measures against intruders, fire, natural disasters. Listening to ABC radio this morning, there was a sound bite from some young girl that attends that school, she said she hope this incident just blows over and everything goes back to normal. Just like a 60 minute TV show. That's the reality this nation has created for it's children. A world of 'reality TV' in the real world. How will this generation cope with real problems when they face them?? At least all previous generations skinned their knees at least playing outside. This generation was raised indoors, and that is scary once you think about it.
